They are: First: “Is there any good reason why a woman should not propose marriage to a man?” Second: “Should a man allow his wife to pay the bills?” In fact, the gestions constitute the main theme of this emotional drama. The supporting cast includes Cla- ra Kimball Young, Bryant Wash- burn, Robert McWade, Florence Roberts, Mary Carr, and Freeman Wood. Sponge-Diving Center “The Sea Bat” is unique in the respect that it was. filmed on the southern coast of Mexico in the seaport of Mazalan, it being the first time that the sponge-diving center has been used as the locale for a motion picture. According to Director Wesley Ruggles, this sport was chosen because of its scenic beauty as well as the fact that the waters in its vicinity are populated by ‘the sea ray or bat - {which has an important role in the narrative. The plot deals with the adven- tures of an escaped convict who comes to the native village in the guise of a clergyman and becomes involved in the affairs of the sponge-diving inhabitants.
