LEGION SMOKER MATE, WINNER TONIGHT BOASTS OF FINE BOUTS, Freddie Mack and Miles Murphy in Main Event Head Good Bill ‘What many followers of the fis- tic pastime regard as the best pug-, ilistic card offered in Juneau in a; long time will be presented under auspices of the local post of the American Legion in A. B. hall to- night. Every event on the pro- gram, which besides three boxing bouts includes a wrestling match, gives promise of developing into an interesting affair. The main attraction, of course, is the six-round encounter for the middleweight championship of Al- aska arranged between Freddie| Mack of Seattle and Miles Murphy | of Juneau, both registered at 155 pounds. Mack Packs Wallop Mack packs a wallop that has earned for him the pseudonym of “Dynamite.” He is a veteran in the squared circle. He has to his credit many early-round victories of the knock-out variety. He is in the pink of condition. He has been training faithfully, and ought to show at top form tonight. Murphy is not so experienced or so rugged as the Seattle man, but the Juneau athlete has an advan- tage in height. He inches over his opponent. Murphy has a punch strong enough to win if he can land it where he wants to. The belief is general that the main event will not go the limit. The special bout between Louls Nabalis of Juneau, and Kid De| Graceio, recently of Manila, each tipping the beam at close to 120 pounds, ought to be a tobasco af- fair. Both are confident of bring- ing things to a quick end. Preliminary Event The preliminary features two contenders of merit. Billie Nx"kma vich and Willile Rodenberg, pounders. If either wins decisiv 1y within the scheduled four rounds he will be on his way up. Novelty to the program will be added by a couple of grapplers. Sajlor McClure, who is billed as former middleweight champion olyb pcrsu’\ °d to miss the day. towers two | the United States Navy, will meet| Gene Hulk, known as the “Te: Russ.” As nothing but the “toe- hold” is barred, the two rivals for mat honors will be left free to em-| ploy, during three bouts of six| minutes each, bone, crushing tactics of their gen- tle art. The evening’s program will start promptly at 8 o'clock. ———————— SCHOMBEL'S ELECTRIC SHOP adv. TELEPHONE 4502 ble | any of the othcr‘ Ved by C. V.
