CAPITOL OFFERS LOTS OF FUN IN CHARLEY'S AUNT .Ruggles Is Center of Hilar- ity in Feminine Imper- sonation Role A rip-roaring farce opened at the | Capitol Theatre last night. It .3 | “Charley’s Aunt,” a comedy of life |at Oxfort. More particularly it re- volves around a female imperson- ator and his experiences as chaper- ’on to two young girls. It is a Co- ! lumbia picture, produced by Chris- tie. One riotous situation follows | another. Though, primarily a com- edy of situation; lines, action, busi- ness and characterizations all con- tribute to the fun and the result is superb. Impersonates Elderly Lady It all starts when Jack Clesney i and Charley Wykeham, two Oxford students, persuade one of their friends, “Babbs,” to impersonate an old lady. “Babbs” is to pretend he is Charley’s Aunt, Donna Lucia DrAlvadorez, and act as chaperen at a luncheon to which the two boys have invited their sweeshearts, Amy and Kitty. The result is a series <f situations that are the acme of comic perfection. Hilarity Is Object Complications and character are introduced with only one purpose —to heighten the hilanty—the re- sult is most surcessul, Charlie Ruggles in his disguise as the Aunt is ihe ecent>r of mest of the uproarions ci‘uations and his antics are as funny as anything that has been seen on the screen in a pretty long time. An excellent supporting cast includes June Coll- yer, Doris Lloyd, Rodney McLen- non, Hugh Williams and Phillips Smalley. Charley's aunt will be shown again tonight and tomorrow night. ————— JUDSON HAS FLU Art Judson, one of the popular attaches at George Brothers, is ill with an attack of the flu. CAPT.
