INEW AIRPLANE FROM SEATTLE DUE FRIDAY Anotner ' new Seaplane, namea the Petersburg, for service in South- east Alaska, is scheduled to leave Seattle tomorrow morning for Ju- neau, announced Larry Parks, lo- cal manager of the Alaska Wash- ington Airways today. The plane, which was manufactured at Bure | bank, Cal, will stop at Ketchikan on its flight to this eity. Eventually it will be based at Ketchikan. The Petersburg will take the place formerly ocupied by the Taku, now in Seattle for a thorough over haul. Goes to Ketchikan The seaplane Sitka left Juneau early this morning for Skagway, where it picked up Joseph Bur- dette and James Fraser. It returned here a few hours later, took on gasoline and left for Ketchikan with Burdette, Fraser and K. T. Drus, construction engineer, who has' been associated with the work of building a wharf and making other improvements for the Stan- dard Oil Company here. The Sitka, piolted by E. A. Meyring, and serv- |iced by Frank Hatcheér, mechanic, is expected to return to Juneaw this evening. Wrangell for Funter Bay The Wrangell, with Robert E. El- lis, pilot, and Chandler Hicks, me- chanic, went from here to Funter Bay this morning. It carried Mrs. Ray Perty whose husband is con- nected with the Alaska Pacific Packing Company there. The Wran- gell returned to Juneau late this forenocon with Henry Roden, attor- ney, and Mrs. Roden. The plane was scheduled to fly again to Funter Bay this afternoon.
