Free-for-All The outboard and free-for-all in- board motor races will be run as: a handicap in such a manner that all entrants will have an equal| chance of winning. Proper func- tioning of engines and good judg- ment in maneuvering vessels will be the determining factor in these races. Boat owners and operators should not be discouraged because of the entry of faster vessels but should devote much effort in see- ing that their motors develop maxi- mum power and operate through- out the race without attention. Any contestant adjusting or tampering with motors or refusing to follow the course laid out will be disquali- fied. Races will be run on a course starting from the Government dock then to a designated mooring off Douglas and return to the finishing line at the Government dock. P $ Comedy Act The comedy act will be the greased boom event and will be held on the starting scow moored at the face of the dock. Contes- tants will endeavor to remove a flag from the end of a long, slip- pery pole extended at an angle; over the inboard side of the scow. Three minutes will be allowed each entrant and the one removing the flag in the shortest time will be awarded first prize, the next short- est time the second prize, etc. The committee warns prospective en- trants to be prepared to be received in the arms of Father Neptune. This contest is open to all comers and the commjttee anticipates that some fair entrant will take first|= prize as the judges are apt to de- § beginning at 10 a.m. and will take !location Tuesday, July 1st. the picnickers to Salmon Creek. HALIBUT GEAR SETTING CONTEST: One skate of gear will be set from Government Dock to Cold Storage Dock with two anchors and two buoys. Haul- ing back, vessels will start at Cold Storage Dock and haul back to finishing line. FREE-FOR-ALE INBOARD MOTOR RACE: Conditions will be sdéme as those above for outhoard motor races. HALIBUT GEAR BAITING: 3 This event will be combined with halibut gear setting con- test.
