It is deemed necessary to post at the courts of the Juneau Tennis Club a list of Club Members and request is therefore made that all members who have not yet paid current year dues of $10.00, or who have not signified their intention of so doing, will give the matter at- tention by making remittance as soon as possible to Chas. E. Har- land who is in charge of the fi- nances of the Club. It is desired that balance of in- debtedness of the Club be paid up at an early date, hence need for funds at this time. Later in the NEW CONCERN T0 START ON TAKU MONDAY Transportation and Trad- ing Company Boat Due North Tomorrow With the first trip up the Taku River scheduled for next Monday, active participation of the Taku Transportation and Trading Com- pany in the freight and passenger business to the new mineral belt will begin then, it was announced | today by Capt. L. H. Fraser, who is in charge here. { Incorporated in Canada, this new concern will operate regular River | service with a 45-foot river boat. Tomorrow morning at 6 o’clock this | craft, the Taku River, is due to| arrive at Taku Inlet with a scow. On the scow will be at least six flat bottom skiffs with outboard | motors which will be for charter, | rent or sale, according to Capt. | Fraser. As the Company he repre- sents is incorporated in Canada, it will not be possible for his boat to take passengers out of Juneau for Taku Inlet. Local Arrangements Thsi difficulty will be overcome, he said, by arrangements with un-| named local interests to carry pas-| sengers to Taku Inlet, from where he will take them to Tulsequah. The Taku Transportation and Trading Company boats are those which some time ago were credited here with being owned by the Pacific Salvage Company. This error made in an anouncement in| a Prince Rupert newspaper, was probably due to the fact that an of- ficial of the salvage concern is in- terested in the Taku project, Capt. | Fraser said. Capt. Fraser expects several men on the Taku River tomorrow. Later he will have a man stationed as an agent here, in an office which he has already opened at the Winter and Pond Studio. To Offer Facilities It is the aim of the Taku Trans- portation and Trading Company, declared Capt. Fraser, to offer all available facilities for passengers and freight in an effort to secure a share of the business. Later his interests may erect a stopping place at Tulsequah for the convenience of travelers, he said. — - month a meeting will be called to’ Don’t forget the rummage 5:ale plan for needed improvements to Of useful articles, basement of Pres- SAILING SCHEDULE Leave Due Juneau Due Juneau Seattle Northbound Southbound May 3 May 6 May 13 .May 10 May 13 May 20 ..May 13 May 17 May 19 May 17 May 20 May 26 ...May 24 May 27 June 3 ...May 27 May 31 June May 29 June 1 June ....May 31 June 3 June Steamer Aleutian .
