In “Dark Streets,” the newest Fii National-Vitaphone feature starring Jack Mulhall, which opens at the Palace Theatre tonight, this theme is made doubly effective by making the brothers twins. The silver cord which binds these two as against the separating in- fluences of a civilized community fuses the narrative entirely of «Dark Streets” into what is prom- jsed as one of the most compelling- 1v absorbing productions of recent date. Mulhall plays both roles end is sald to render the finest characterizations in his career as the twin brother—one a crook, one a police officer. «Dark - Streets” was adapted to the screen by Bradley King. Jack Mulhall has been given an excel- Jjent supporting cast including Lila Lee in the feminine lead, and im- portant roles by Pat Harmon and Aggie Herring. «# —— PRINCE RUPERT PEOPLE™ GREAT BOOK READERS The Prince Rupert Public Library loaned 48980 books last year, ex- ceeding the year before by 1425.
