Olaf Larson, arrived in port yesterday with 4,000 pounds of halibut which were sold to the Alaska Fish Brokerage for 13.30 and 9 cents. The Vivian, Capt. Charles Larson, arrived in port yesterday with a cargo of 2,000 pounds of halibut which sold to the San Juan Fish- ing and Packing Co. for 13.25 and 9 cents. The Seaketch, Capt. E. Singstad, arrived in port with a cargo of 2,500 silver salmon which sold to the New England Fish Co. for 80 cents apeice. ON TRIP FOR BEAR H. P. Davison and William Ew- ing, of New York, who arrived in I Juneau on the steamer Alaska, and jJohn M. Holsworth left town early (this morning for the southern part of Admiralty Island where they expect to spend about two weeks hunting for bear. Mr. Holsworth is noted for his skill in hunting for bear with a motion picture | camera, All three men are regis- tered at tee Zynda Hotel., PICKS UP DEER IN | 'WATER AND BRINGS IT HERE TO TAME A three-year old buck deer was rescued off Point Adolphus, Icy Straits, yesterday morning by Capt. E. Singstad, of the fishing boat Seaketch, and did not show much signs of life until it reached Ju-l neau this morning. “It was fine weather off Point | Adolphus, yesterday morning,” said Capt. Singstad, “and the visibility was good when all of a sudden I saw what appeared to me to be the hand of a human being wav- ing above the surface of the water, 1 immediately changed my course and when I got close enough, I found that the object I had seen was a good-sized deer. It was almost dead and was just about ready to sink when I grabbed it by lthe ears and, with the help of my crew, hauled it aboard the Sea- ketch. I worked on it for five! thours trying to bring it back to! life, before it showed any signs of moving about. And it didn't show much pep of any kind until |we reached Juneau this morning.
