No. TWenty-eight rounds of fighting are provided for in the American Legion July 3 smoker card made public today by Matchmaker Tom | Shearer. But Tom isn't promising that the whole 28 will go on the boards since he expects some of the bouts will end with kayos before they go their scheduled distance. There are five bouts on the card, and each of them looks to be un- usually good. There are several new names in the list, worn by men who will appear here for the first time. All of them have excellent ring records and those who have worked out locally in training ap- parently have the goods to back up their claims. Four out of the ten fighters are from the Army and Navy, two from each branch of the service. Olson, from Chilkoot Barracks, is match- ed in the main bout with Joe Cal- lier. Ralston, of the Navy Mappers, takes on Joe Leyson, Filipino cham- pion, in one of the semi-finals, and Stattinger, of the Navy meets Sei- bert of the Army in the second semi-final. All three of these bouts are unusually high class. At least one of the preliminaries will be a real battle.
