D. Stab- ler left last night on the Admiral Rogers for Seattle, but will stop off at Ketchikan for a day or two. He shipped his automobile south on the same steamer. Mr. Stabler is expected to go by plane from Ketchikan to Seattle. There he will be joined by Mrs. Josephine Tupper and Mrs. Iva Til- den and with them visit Yosemite and Yellowstone parks and visit other California points. Mr. Stab- ler will return here about July 1. EXHAUSTED BEAVER FLOATS ASHORE AT OIL DOCK FRIDAY A full-grown beaver drifted ashore yesterday afternoon on the beach at the Union Oil Company dock. He was exhausted and apparently al- most dead, when he was discovered. Employees of the company noti- fied the Alaska Game Commis- sion and Warden Dufresne went to the rescue. The animal was put in a small boat and taken to a fresh water stream on Douglas Island where first aid was administered, cut without result. The beaver died shortly aftér being put in the creek. There was no indication of in- jury about him.
