SEVEN SENATE BILLS PASSED; ONE IN HOUSE ] Two New Measures Are In-| troduced in Legislature —Cannery Bill Up Seven Senate bills were yesterday | advanced on the calendar of the|H upper House and passed that body by a unanimous vote. All of them were measures that had been en- acted by the 1927 Legislature and, because they had reached and been signed by the Governor after the Legislature had adjourned sine die, the Attorney General believed that there was some question as to their | § validity. The Steel cannery sanitation bill the first really important measure to reach the floor of either house went through its second re: yesterday and was expected to p the Senate today without opp: tion. Senator Anderson introduced measure designed to relieve the cit of Nome from further payment of $2,500 annually for its share in maintenance of the Nome harbor improvement. It directs the Terri- torial Road Commission to allot $2500 each year from the road fund from the Second Division to |8 care for this matter | In the House, Mr. Foster, Cor- cova, introduced a bill carrying an| appropriation of $20,000 for the construction of a school house at! structure, he | , has been con- structed for more than 40 years and | has long outlived its period of ser-| viceability. The House, by a unanimous vote passed Frame's bill transferring 10| acres of land held by the Territory in Matanuska Valley to George A. Gates. It is the second measure to have been enacted during the session. The House concurred in the Sen- ate’s amendment to Woofter' amendment to the printing and it now goes to the Governor | for approval.
