Brady, Douglas Indian, who has the reputation of being dynamite in the squared circle, is another heavy who is almost sure to be matched for the card. BLAZE IN TARVIA POT THIS MORNING; FIREMEN WORK FAST Firemen were called out af 10:20 o'clock this morning in an- swer to a call from Connors’ Gar- age where a pot of tarvia over- flowed and caught fire on Front street. Large clouds of black smoke were rising from the street in front of the garage when the * firemen arrived, but quick work with the chemicals and hooster tanks of both trucks and some help from workmen who threw sand on the burning tarvia quick- ly extinguished the flames. The fire was close to the large gaso- line tanks and pump belonging to J. J. Connors, but these were not in danger because of the prompt action taken. Tarvia is something new to Ju- neau.) A compound similar to tar, " # is mixed with sand and used . in the capacity of cement for sidewalks. L. F. Morris is put- ting in such a walk for Mr. Con- nors, and because it is cheaper than cement and has greater ex- pansion powers, it is felt, by Mr. Morris and Mr. Conners it will be “a successful experiment and tha* tarvia may be used on other wallls in Juneau. The pot being used at present is in temporary use unmtil Mr. Morris receives a new one, and * the overflow, caused by the tarvia boiling, ran into the firepot, start- ing the blaze. ——————— . E. C.
