COMING SUNDAY HARRY LANGDON in “The Strong Man” Equally as funny as “Tramp, Tramp, Tramp »” Attractions At Thectres T A RS PR G TR0 S Vet | “COLLEEN” 1S NOW | "SHOWING, COLISEUM | Agzlm Mad;,e anamy the fl per star of “Sandy” and “Sum mer Bachelors,” scores a tri un.ph. This time in an ecntirely different role, that of a demurc and lovely Irish lassie in “Col leen,” which had its first show. ‘ng at the Coliseum last night. Both in the early sequences in Ireland, where Miss Bellamy ic shown ‘in the quaint costumes f a daughter of the Old Sod, and in the later Amernican scenes she ig equally lovely and at her best as an actress. The story of “Colleen” deals with an impoverished Irish Lord his son, played_by Charles Mor ton, and their wealthy neighbors the O'Flynns, the father played by J. Farrell Macdonald and the daughter by Miss Bellamy. There is a great deal of humor in this picture in the scenes hetween the two irrascible fathers of the young people and Miss Bellamy's an Mr. Morton’s love making under difficulties. “Colleen” is the name of. th: race horse with which the Kel Jeys expect to recoup their for tunes in America, where they come, followed by the O'Flynns who follow them to enter their own horse against “Colleen” after a quarrel between the two fam ilies. There is action, humor, a very sweet and unusual love story and a plot that is novel and entertain- ing. — i LAMING FOREST” BIG | FEATURE AT PALACE | [+ Too much cannot be said in praise of “The Flaming Forest,” the Cesmopolitan screen adapta- tion of James Oliver -Curwood's celebrated novel of the same name, which opened last night at Spickett's Palace. The work of Antonio Moreno and Renée Adoree was litfle short of absolute perfection. Though they have never appeared before in the same production they were perfectly timed in action and worked in umison throughout the entire picture. Moreno, who for many years confined his interpretations to Jrishman as though his name had peen Kelly and he had been born on the Emerald Isle. Tony has ,been forging rapidly to the froml during the Jast year with his good ork in ‘““The Temptress,” “Love'’s ness,” and. other productions, e has never had a role so to his type as that of Seor- t Carrigan- of the Northwest ounted. _ S Miss Adoree has even eclipsed er work in “The Big Parade,” it juch. h . “The Flaming lhan h-r a role with ies and poastbilit| ww-fl: one ut, ih&llulll' ] _at.
