HEAVY WIND HITS JUNEAU SATURDAY A heavy south wind which arose the middle of last Saturday afte- noon made itself- felt here for sev- eral hours and temporarily dim- med the electric power, while thd ferry to Douglas was- unable to get across from Juneau after the 3 o'clock trip until the 7:50 o’clock Tum. Between the hours of 4:30 and 6:15 o'clock in the afternoon the lights in the city were dim most of the time. A short circuit or near break in the Alaska Gasci- neau power lines in the Annex Creek district caused the dropping off of the power. This afternoon, short circuit had not been located. When the Lone Fisherman, Ju- neau-Douglas ferry, attempted (o cross the Lhannel on the 4 o'clock trip, it was forced to return after progressing about half way across. Judge Reed’s decision was made on a motion of /Assistant United States District / Attorney H. D. Stabler, on account of one of the prosecution’s important witnesses being unable to reach Juneau at this time.
