DOUGLAS NEWS, D. 1. W. C. EVENTS TO START NEXT MONTH The Faculty members of the Douglas Island Women’s Club en- tertained the Club Wednesday, their home. Plans of the A. I. W. C. to assist in changing the probate code and providing relief for ploneer women in need, were heartfly indorsed. The minstrel show, planned for this month will be given on April 12, it was decided. Preparations are under way for a mask ball on February 14. Mesdames Glen Kirkham and Edwards, and the Misses Sey and, Flemming are in arge. The proceeds will be used for the erection of a grand- stand and Improvement of the 1a; ound. ° b .’u‘;final Gallwas and Charles Sey, were appointed on’the sick visiting committee. Among the numbers on the progtam for the evening were 2 yocal solo, “Lassie Q' Mine,” by|t% Mrs. Glen Kirkham, and a vocal trio, “Side By Side,” by Misses Flemming, Daily and Manke. Lunch was served by the hos- tesses. The Club will meet ne at the home of Mrs. L. D. Ham- mock.
