With the exception of bob-sled parties, skiing. skating, snow-balling and similar frigid diversions. One of the big attractions for sportsmen generally {s the 45-day racing meet of the Miami Jockey Club. From mid-January unul March the Hialeah track will be a center of interest for Florida visitors, For those who like fast fisti- cuffs, two fight shows weekly will be staged. Mr. Gene Tunney, the etudent chamfilon who outfought Dempsey at Pl ilndelnhh. will look in on some of these bouts. Gene will be there. however, as spec- tator, not principal. Among those RACING scheduled to participate more di- rectly are Tendler and Britton, Pinc and Leto. Mandell and Osner, the Shekels boys Young Stribling, Gar Wood. Carl Fisher, W. J. Connors and other owners of crack speed boats will go after new records in a series of motor- boat races. Although better than 70 miles an hour has been made by a sea sled, Wood's auartet of “Sunshine Babies”. equipped with Hispano airplane engines. and crack boats entered by other con- testants, are ‘counted on to rival even this record. Golfing, of course, has been given oroper emphasis as a fa- vorite recreation with the winter vacationists.
