The board of county commis- sioners met at Grangeville, Mon- day, assembling as aboard of equalization of personal pro- perty. The most important ad- justment was that of the First National Bank of Grangeville and is explained in the proceed- ings of the commissioners as fol- lows: Comes now, A. N. Dyer and A. S. Hardy on behalf of the First National Bank of Grange- ville, representing to the board that in arriving at the assessed valuation of the shares of the capital stock of said bank the as- sessed valuation of the real estate was deducted, whereas the actual cash invested in such real estate should have been de- ducted. Upon thorough investigation by the board and the written authority, it appears to the Board that this assessment of said bank should be equalized in accordance with the statutes and Supreme Court decision, as fol- lows: Page 30 of Personal Tax Roll shows said stock to be assessed for the sum of 12,070.69; It is hereby ordered that said assess- ment be reduced to the sum of $5,042.50, which represents ‘the value of the capital stock after deducting the value of the real estate owned, as shown by said bank’s published statement of December 29, 1922. The Ferdinand Rochdale also asked for a reduction in their personal property assessment, this was denied by the board on the grounds that the assessment was just, as compared with pro- perty of the same class in the SATISFACTION “They call it soft coal, but it’s still hard to get” —but it isn’t hard to_res- tore your car or truek to Good Health when you bring it to us.
