OCTOBER SESSION October 10, 1923 Wednesday, Third Term Day Wednesday, October 10, 1923, 9 a. m., board met in pursuance of ad- journment of yesterday, Present same as yesterday, place of meeting same as yesterday. Minutes of yesterday read and approved, whereupon the board proceeded to business as follows: The board having made their visit to the county farm, report they find the inmates well taken care of, and by way of improying the premises, ordered repair of fences and barn, to put them in good conditon. Upon personal application of Dan White to the board for aid, after duly considering ‘the matter, it is hereby ordered that said Dan White be placed upon the county farm where he can receive proper care and atten- tion. Resignation of William Giles as jus- tice of the peace of Newsome precinct examined and accepted and his bonds ordered released. In the matter of the application of W. H. Giles, bondsman for Alex Touraille, constable of Newsome pre- cinct, the resignation of Alex Tour- aille not being on file, the application is hereby ‘ordered laid over awaiting the resignation of Alex Touraille. In the matter of the application of Wm, BE, McGaffee, et al, for a dona- tion for repair on bridge across the Salmon river at the town of Riggins. After consideration, it appears to the board of county commissioners that said bridge has been constructed with- out any expense to the county and that the public has had free use of said bridge for many years and that said bridge is of great importance to the public and if not repaired will soon be in a dangerous condition, therefore the board does hereby ap- propriate the sum of $250.00. for the repair of sald bridge, with the under- standing that the said appropriation shall in no way obligate the county for the upkeep of said bridge in the future. On application of W. EB. McGaffee, et al, asking the appointment of George Dennison as road overseer of road district No. 6, hereby approved. The following reports examined and approved : Joint quarterly report of county auditor and treasurer. Fee report of clerk, auditor and re- corder showing fees for the quarter of $1335,65. Fee report of sheriff for the quar- ter showing fees of $534.30. Fee report of probate judge show- ing fees for quarter of $232.60, Report of probate judge on mothers entitled, to pension. OCTOBER SESSION October 11, 1923 Thursday, Fourth Term Day Board met, pursuant to adjournment of yesterday, Present same as yes- terday. Place of meeting, same as yesterday. Minutes of yesterday read and approved, whereupon the board proceeded to business as follows: The time now having arrived for the sale of county property which had been advertised heretofore to be sold, the chairman proceeded to offer for sale said property with the following result : NE1-4, NW1-4 SE1-4, SE1-4 NW1-4 and W1-2 NWi-4 Sec. 30, Twp. 26, N. R. 2 BE. B. M. Bids not satisfac- tory, no sale was made. In the SW1-4 NE1-4, SW1-4 NW1-4, in SE1-4 NW1-4, NE1-4 SW1-4 Sec 21, Twp. 34, N. R. 5 B. B. M. Bids not satisfactory, no sale was made. Lot 3, SE1-4 NWi1-4, H1-2 SW1-4, Sec. 1, Twp. 29, N. R. 8 B. B. M. Bids not satisfactory, no sale was made. It appearing that thcre is now re- maining in the county poor farm fund the sum of $11.40 which amount is so small that it cannot be put to any vractica] use for the purpose for which said fund was created, therefore it is hereby ordered that said amount be transferred to the current expense fund of the county and that the county auditor and treasurer make such transfer in the proper accounts of their books. It appearing to the board that the owner of the west one half of lot 2 in block H. northwest addition to the town of Grangeville, Idaho, has ex- pressed hig willingness to sell said lot, and that it would be for the best interest of the county to purchase same, for the reason that the purchase of this lot would connect and make continuous the ground now owned by the county as a courthouse site there- by making said grounds more conven- jent and useful, it is hereby ordered that Geo, S. Shissler, J. A. Seay and Fet Rhoades, three disinterested per- sons, be appointed appraisers of said tract of ground in accordance with Section 3422 of the compiled statutes of the State of Idaho, and appraise said tract of ground immediately and report forthwith to this board their appraised valuation of said lot, Geo. 8. Shissler, J. A. Seay and Fet Rhoades, three d'sinterested persons, heretofore having filed their oath at this time made their return of the appraisement on the west one half of lot 2 of block H, of the northwest addition to the town of Grangeville, in which they report the valuation placed by them on said lot to be $275.- 00, now, therefore It is hereby ordered that said west half of said lot 2, block H. northwest addition, be purchased from the owner thereof for a consideration of $150.00, the county assuming the taxes assessed against said lot for the year 1923, and the order for warrant in the sum of $150.00 to be drawn on current expense fund at the next regular ses- sion of the county rommissioners in January, 1924, the present owner of said lot to fill out and preperly ex- eente a warranty deed, with an ab- stract up to date, insuring clear titie of said lot. On this Monday, the 10th day of September, 1923, at 9 a. m., board met in accordance with chapters 8211 to 3218 inclusive of the Compiled Laws of the State of Idaho, and amend- ments thereto, for the purpose of de- termining the annual tax levy for state and county purposes upen the ------- 5800 son in tegard to right-of-way. Total levy for county Total levy for state and county 1.60 There is also hereby levied for pred- atory animal tax in accordance with section 1880 of the Compiled Laws of the state of Idaho, a special levy of 8 mills on each dollar in valuation of all sheep in the county, and a spe- cial levy of one-half of one mill on each dollar of assessed valuation of all cattle, hogs, horses and mules in the county. There ia also hereby levied for “sheep inspection fund” in accordance with chapter 15 of the 1921 Idaho Seasion Laws, and certificate of the state board of sheep commiasion- erg, a special levy of 2 mille on the dollar of the assessed valuation of all sheep in the county.
