COUNTY SEAT NEWS ITEMS, Mrs. Elta M. Arnold, county superintendent of schools, left Tuesday for Elk City and Red river, where she will visit schools School in the newly-created Red River district, was opened Mon~ day. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Wikoff, of Grangeville, have leased the Whitebird hotel from Judge F. Z. Taylor, and took charge of the hostelry Sunday, removing from Grangeville to Whitebird. Mrs. Stella Stone, lately of Vancouver, B. C., is arranging to open a beauty parlor in the Solt- man Style shop. Equipment for the parlor is now being installed, and on Monday the parlor will be open to the public. Sam Jones, who has been visiting friends and relatives in the Salmon river country and in Grangeville, departed Monday for Los Angeles, where he is en- gaged in the restaurant busi- ness, and is meeting with much success. Mr. Jones’ restaurant is located on Hill street in the downtown section of the city. Hazing of freshmen in Grange ville high school came to an abrupt end when a sophomore was taken before Probate Judge W. L. Campbell, last Friday, and after having been given a hear- ing, was found guilty of assault, and was found $10 and costs. The fine and costs were suspend- ed on good behavior of the youth. A large number of Grangeville residents plan to attend Pioneers day at Lewiston, Thursday, if the weather continues favorable. Many of the earliest pioneers of of this section live here and are anxious to join in the reunion at Lewiston. A partial list follows: Sidney A. Brown, Belle J. Dor. man, George G.
