Minutes of yesterday read and ap- proved, whereupon the following bu siness was had: The forest reserve through the personal representation of A. C. Adams and C. P. Fickes, has set forth to this board that on a cer- tain trail on the Snake river, the for- est service has spent the sum of $5300, office, here, and that the trail is of great benefit to the people in general and the stock men in particular of that community. and that the forest service would be glad to cooperate with the county in further work in this particular ter- . and that for continued con ction the sum of $500.00 is asked to be appropriated by the county for this work. THe board having con- sidered the above application, and deeming it for the best interest of the county to cooperate with the forest service in this work, it is hereby or- dered that an appropriation of $250 be made. therefor, to be paid on the duly verified vouchers presented by the forest service, by warrants drawn on the road fund of the county. However, it appearing that there are certain projects and plans that have been launched and are nearing completion, and that it would be a loss and waste to the taxpayers if the office was im- mediately abandoncd, it is hereby fur- ther ordered thet the present county agent be retained until the 15th day of February in order that the work now under way may be brought to a final close and finished. It is further ordered that the petitions in the above matter be filed in the offiee of the clerk of this board, In the matter of the appointment of a county physician, two applications eontaining bids and propcsais for such work were filed with the board for action, that of Dr. G_ S. Stockton and Dr. B. Chipman. After due consid- eration being given. both applications it is hereby ordered that the appli- eation and bid of Dr. B_ Chipman be accepted, and that he be and is here- by appointed county physician for the ensuing two years, and that a contract be cntered into by the coun- ty and Dr. B. Board here canvassed the vote of election held in School, District No. 41, which election was held for the purpose of changing the character of said district from a common school district to an independent district, the vote standing 17 for and 69 against, the election was declared lost. It appearing on the petition of jur- ors serving at the October, 1022, term of court, and the recommendation of the district judge of this district, and further upon personal inyestigaton by the board, that it is necessary for the reasonable comfort of such jury- men as may necessarily have to sit on juries hereafter, to supply comfort- able seats, wherefore it is hereby or- dered that cushions be provided for the twelye chairs in the jury box,and that such chairs as are necessary for the jury room be provided, and it is further ordered that the clerk of this board be and is hereby instructed to purchase such chairs and cushions.
