A letter received this week by Mr. Netzel from his wife who de- parted last week for Clintonville, Wis., to attend the funeral of her step-father, Henry Prechel, states that she arrived in time to attend the funeral, after the sev- vices had been postponed for half an hour. Miss Leasel Hussman return- ed last week from a_ three months’ visit with relatives and friends at Portland, Spokane and Plaza, Wash. Miss Hussman states that she spent a very en- joyable visit while away. She will again resume her position as operator with the Pacific Tel- ephone Co.. Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Sligar left Wednesday morning for their new home at Albion, Wash. where they will reside in the fu- ture. They shipped their house- hold goods by express. Owing to the absence of some of the newly elected councilmen from the city, Monday evening, the installation of the newly elected village trustees was post- poned until some later date. Those who desire to have their eyes examined while Dr. Salsberg is in Cottonwood may phone to the Hotel after the 15th for appointments as Dr. Sals- bergs stay is limited to a very short time. 19-2 E. M. Ehrhardt, president of the Empire National Bank of Clarkston, and also president of the Cottonwood State Bank of this city, was a business visitor in the city Tuesday, returning to his home Wednesday morning. Dr. Orr performed an opera- tion upon Mrs. Julius Von Bar- gen at Fenn, Wednesday. The operation was a very cridical one, but up to the present writing the patient has been doing very nice- ly. He was assisted by Dr. Stockton of Grangeville. The Farmers Union received oniy a small number of hogs, Monday, 50 in all, which is the lowest in number to have been deivered here for some time. The porkers were sold to Ben Shaw, a_ stock buyer from Grangeville. I. M. Julian, J. V. Baker, Art Rhoades, Frank Blackburn and R. H. Butler departed Sunday evening for Grangeville, having been summoned there for jury duty.
