EIGHT MURDERED ON NORTH DAKOTA FARM Turtle Lake, N. D.—Eight persons were found dead at the farm home of Jacob Wolf, three miles north of here, victims in a “mysterious tragedy. Seven of the eight persons found slain were shot and the eighth was struck a fatal blow on the side of the head with a hatchet, {t wes decided at the corner’s inquest. Jacob Wolf, on whose farm the tragedy occurred, his wife and four daughters were vic- tims of shotgun wounds. Martha Wolf, three years old, had been struck on the head with a hatchet. Jake Hofer, 13, hired boy, also was shot to death. Some of the victims also had been | struck with the hatchet. Powder marks and burns indicated most of the shots had been fired at close range. Emma, eight months old, the only member of the Wolf family to escape death, is being cared for by neighbors. When found she was lying in a cradle beside an open window.
