Garland of Lewiston are buciness visitors in Cottonwood today. Wilbur Box returned Thursday evening from Lewiston where he kas been receiving medical treat- ment, Charley Johnston was a passen- ger Thursday evening for Grange- uille where he will take in the Days of ’49. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Cramer of Astoria, Ore., arrived Thursday evening and will visit a few days with Mrs; Clara Wortman and daughter. Miss Minnie Lange is confined to her home this week with an attack of what seems to ‘be ir- fluenza. She was taken down with the malady Wednesday. Enoch Crosby who has been making his home in Cottonwood removed his family this week to the August Kopezynski ranch in the Greencreek section which he will operate the coming season, Dr. and Mrs. Orr, Mrs. Aye, Mrs. John Hoene and A. B.. Seu- bert. were Grangeville visitors Wednesday afternoon. The trip was-made ina car and they re- port the roads in fairly good con- dition, George Downer, of Grangeville was a Cottonwood business visitor Monday. Rogers returned Monday evening from Lewiston where he received the county agency for the Velie and Oakland cars. Mr, Rogers expects to sell several of these makes and already has a number of prospective buyers in sight. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mundt, were passengers for Lewiston and Sweetwater Friday morning. Mrs. Mundt and the children will visit with friends at Sweetwater and Mr. Mundt will spend a few days in Lewiston on business. Mrs. J. D. Shinnick, son, Tom and daughter, Rose Mary are ex- pected to arrive home next week. While in Lewiston, after Tom was able to leave the hospital, his sister was attacked with in- fluenza which caused another de- lay. H. Boeckman of the Keuterville section was a Cottonwood busi- ness visitor Wednesday. He stat- ed that the roads were in fairly good shape in his section of the of the country. While in town he paid the Chronicle office a pleasant visit and advanced his subscription for another year. Clem Hussman returned from Shicago last Wednesday, where he has been taking in the sights of the city and looking after his interests in the Jones Automatic “Air Coupler. Mr. Hussman says that the larger towns are full of unemployed people and that he is surely glad to get. back +to the country again. Sergeant Charles Turner, of Grangeville, one of the soldier boys who returned with members of Company E, about a week ago is visiting with friends in Cotton- wood this week. Charles was al- so a member of Company Eat the time the company was called to the Mexican border.
