B. at Nezperce, Idaho Nezperce Hardware Co. Nezperce, Idaho Lieut. Governor Parker For State Treasurer The following appeared in Monday’s Lewiston Tribune: Lieutenant Governor E. L. Park- er of Cottonwood. was in the city yesterday en route to Boise where he will file his nomination papers for the democratic nomination for state treasurer. Mr. Parker's nomination is made by Frank McGrane, Idaho county; J. P. Sorenson, Lewis county, and Phil- ip Weisgerber, of Nez Perce coun- ty. Mr. Parker decided to enter the race after receiving urgent re- quests from the state central com- mittee and’ telegrams from party leaders in six southern and six northern counties. Mr. Parker is now completing his first term as lieutenant gov- ernor but is well known through- out the state, having been in the legislature from the central Idaho district. Mr. Parker is a gentle- man who makes friends quickly, his presence inspires confidence and esteem and his friends feel he will add material strength to the state ticket in entering the race for state treasurer. “Tam going to Boise at the re- quest of the state committee,” said Mr. Parker Sunday. “I will tell the state committee that I will not make an active campaign, that I have not the time fora campaign. I have been busy with war activities of our community and.I propose to continue in these activities. The money that I would use for a campaign will be donated to the Red Cross and other war activities. If I am nominated to stand for the party in the general election, I will go before the voters of the state on my record and, as I have said, without making a state campaign. Iflam_ elected I will give the state the best service that is in my power and if I am defeated I will continue my activities i in the interest of sondebas oie e war.’ All Must Reg Register. All Idaho citizens who desire to vote in the primaries to be held on September 3 must register with the registrars of their precincts before the evening of August 31. This applies to all citizens asa former voting residence will not be recognized by the judges of election and votes cannot be sworn in at the polls. The law passed by the last leg- islature provides for this general registration and repeals the law which recogonized the former vot- ing residence. It wasa feature of the old law that voters who participated in the former general election and.had not changed their voting places were entitled to vote without registration and it was also provided that votes could be sworn in on election day with- out registration. All of this has been eliminated and only a 1918 registration will be recogonized as entitling a citizen to vote. Mrs. Viola Rhett, at the Cot- tonwood Mere. But no individual can speak so authoritatively and from personal knowledge of the real facts about Germany as Ambassador J. W. Gerard. In the wonderful film production made from his book, “My Four Years in Germany,” you see scene after scene that exposes the Prussian menace to America, You see the Kaiser tell Gerard, after having refused to see him for six months, “that America had better look out after this war, as I will stand no foolishness from her,” You see the invasion of Belgium, the German prison camps, the U-boat warfare, the underground pages of German diplomacy that Germany never intended America to find out. In this picture you will see why American troops are over there. You will see the real reasons why they went there and why they will stay there to the last man if necessary until German autocracy is broken. This amazing screen production has been running four months in all the large cities and comes to this section of the northwest direct from the Coliseum, Seattle, where it showed for two weeks to thousands of people daily.
