It is reported | ; All Other Receipts Judge Budge a Candi- date to Succeed Himself Chief Justice Alfred Budge of the Idaho supreme court is a can- didate to succeed himself. He was placed in nomination this week bya group of prom{nent lawyers and laymen of different political faiths: James E. Babb, Lewiston; Edward A. Walters, Twin Falls; Frank T. Wyman, Boise; C. C. Cavanah, Boise; M. J. Sweeley, Twin Falls and George W. Welker and Eugene O’Neill, Lewiston; Ex-governor James H. Hawley, Frank Kinyon, Henry Z. Johnson and A. C. Hindman, all of Boise; Philip Weisgerber and Ralph L. Thompson, Lewiston and James H. Lothwell, Twin Falls, and Rev. Willsie Martin, pastor of the First Methodist church, Boise, one of the most prominent war speakers in the State, who recently left for France to study the situation at the front, so that he may return with first- hand information for Idahoans. Occupied with the important duties attached to the chief jus- ticeship of the supreme court, Justice Budge has been devoting his time exclusively to them and such war work ‘as is possible, es- pecially in speaking in behalf of the various drives, including the thrift stamp and _Liberty Loan. The work of the court has been heavy and hard. It has been the impression for some time, among those familiar with the trend of events in this State, that because of his record on the bench and de- votion to duty, Judge Budge is the strongest man available for the supreme court bench and he will, therefore, receive almost uni- versal support in all parts of the State. eee Our Ladies Aid will havea cooked food sale at the Parker store a week from tomorrow—on Saturday, Aug. 3.
