Each person or firm having any sugar or any wheat flour in excess of 4 barrel, in his possession in Idaho county ‘is hereby notified that he is required te report to the undersigned, immediately, the amount of such flour and su- gar. This applies to all except ' |those licensed dealers who are al- ready reporting to the govern- ment. Failure to report is a dis- loyal act and makes you liable to prosecution for hoarding. Following are the rules now governing the sale of flov>: 1st. Not more than } barrel of wheat flour may be sold to.any one purchaser at any one time. Exception; hotels, restaurants, ete. and those living at an extreme distance may purchase enough to make a 30-day supply with what they already have on hand. A 30-day supply means not more than 6 pounds of wheat flour per person. In all cases an equal amount of substitutes must be purchased when the flour is pur- chased. 2nd. Only the following are permitted as substitutes: Corn meal, corn starch, corn flour, hom- iny, corn grits, barley flour; rice, rice flour, oatmeal, rolled oats, buckwheat flour, potato flour, sweet potato flour, soya bean flour, feterite flour, feterite meal, and tapioca. Beans and potatoes are no longer permitted as substitutes. Certificates by consumers that they have in their possession re- quired substitutes to balance wheat flour purchases will no longer be acceptable. 8rd. Retailers may sell pack- age wheat cereal goods now held in stock without substitutes, but not as substitutes. ‘This permis- sion is given for present stocks only and not for further stocks, 4th. REPORT VIOLATIONS. The wheat and flour situation is more serious than most people appreciate. The Government will likely commandeer a great deal of it soon if it is not volun- tarily delivered. * The leading hotels of the coun- try have set a patriotic example by voluntarily agreeing to use no wheat from April 15th to Sept. ist. Itisthe duty of all to cur- tail the consumption of wheat and its products. We could do without them but our army and our allies must have them. The rule prohibiting dealing in live or freshly killed hens will end April 19th. There are now no other meat restrictions.
