Mrs. Joe South returned home} Monday from Clarkston, where she had been for several days un- der treatment by an osteopathic doctor. Mrs. South says she is feeling better than she has felt for a number of years, which is pleasing news to her many friends. MeMahon, wife and child are here visiting Mrs. McMahon’s parents— Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Poler. Mr. McMahon is connected with the Northwestern. School Supply Co. of Minneapolis, and for the past year has been making his headquarters at Nezperce. Mr. McMahon left Wednesday for a brief business trip to Minneapolis. During his absence his wife and baby will remain here with their relatives. About 100 people enjoyed the card party in the I. O. O. F. hall Tuesday night, it requiring 19 ta- bles to accommodate the players. The receipts, amounting to $25, was turned over to the local Red Cross Chapter. The Cottonwood Milling & El- evator Co. has decided to build at | once an addition to their elevator |to hold at least 100,000 bushels, This is done in order to be able to take care of the crops and have |sufficient room to store wheat /needed for the mill. | Manager Meyer informs us that | the demand for their flour is so | great that during the balance of the season the mill will run day and night. A special meeting of the stock- holders will be called at once to decide upon the kind of building to be erected and to let a contract for same. The Cottonwood Milling and Elevator Co. Tuesday commenced the manufacture of barley flour that will be placed on the market at once to assist in solving the problem offered by the new food | program. The flour will be sold y retailers at five cents per pound and the quality manufactured is said to be of the highest class, There is already a big demand for barley flour on the prairie and with no other mill in this part of the state prepared to manu’ acture this kind of flour, it is expected large shipments will be made to nearby towns.
