Havirax, Nov. 2.—Rains fell at intervals during the day, accompanied by a thick - fo, und the fleet which left this forenoon to convey™ the Sarmatian into port had to return. ~They found after getting outside the harbor that the weather was So thick they could see nothing afew hundred yurds off. Just as eversbody had given up ali hopesof the Sarmatian arriving to-night, she was announced fo the offinzata quarter to 7 o'clock, £o tbat all fears of her captare by a Fenian cruiser were happily dissipated. It was said at it that she had been ordered to Jamaica, but. after- wards that she had gone “out to protect the Sarmarian against a Fenian cruiser that was said to be fo searchh of ber. It was cited 1 support of this theory that it had been stipu- lated that the course of the Sarmatian bad been changed by the Admiralty, su that instead of going between the Virgin Rocks and Cape Race she should puss some sixty miles south of those rocks, a8 it was in the pass between the Virzin Rocks aod Cape Kace that the Fenian cruicer was to capture her. - THE TRUTUL OF THE WHOLE AFFAIR is this: The Sirius has been sent out to accom- pany the Sarmatian into port, but not through acy fear of a Fenian cruiser.
