Immense rewards have been ofared by the Government for the apprehen- gmof the murderers, besides liberal sums by tbe Jocal sutborities and the relatives of the geresced. Not less than $25,000 in sl has been ized to 20y party or parties who would give ofarmation such as wouid lead to the apore- ‘bezsion aad punishment of the perpetrators of 1beast. There certainly could not have been a Jess nomber than three or four men enganed in the affnir of the murder, and it is morally im- possible that it could kove been pianned and execated without the knowledge and perhaps + ganivance Of OILers. THE SCESE OF THE MURDER fJocsted in the midst of one of the most im- porenished counties in Ireland, where the peas- sotry bave been ground into the very dust by landlod rate and opprossi ion, and where life'ts acontipued struggle with biting povertv and want.
