Gavzssuro, I, Aug. 7.—The Republiean Covgressional Convention for tho Ninth Dis- trict was Iicld at tho Opera-Tlouse In this city to-day, A larze number of leading Republicans were in attendance, and the Interest mabifested was unusual, The morning tralns brought the delegates from the Countles of Peoris, Fulton, and Stark, which, with Knox, constitute the Ninth District, At 11 o’clock Z. Beatty, Chairman of the Con- gressional Committee, called the Couventlon to order by reading the enll, and the politieal fight which has attracted so much attention n this section of the State was soon to ba terminated. Politiclans who tad spent many slecpless nights wero about to have tnelr plans reatized or defented. From that followed, however, an expected tedions and excitiug Conventlon proved to be exactly the onoosite. Tha Committes on Or- ganization selected the Hon. Candi- dates wero then presented. Fulton County vresented the Hon. Thamas A.
