THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10, 1925 Che Casper Daily Cribune | PUPILS SWELL GREAT CROWD AT TARERNAG 50 Enlisted in Christian Service Here Last Night. The big delegation last ni m the Junior High at the nacle, The young people gave a yell | for the services and then sent two | of their number to the big platform | » sing a Christmas duet. It was ‘Silent Night, Holy Night," that the two girls sang, and when they | got to the third stanza, Mr. Welch had the big chorus hum an accom: | paniment. The girls’ toices rang out the big tabernacle clear and beautiful, harmonizing well for girls | over as young as they. Mr. Welch also| alled for an expression from the crowd in an attempt to discover from what size families his hearers | came. The call went from four on/ up until one man arose as a mem- ber of a family of twenty. Mrs. P. W. Frank and Mrs, Peter Holden sang a duet, “From the Ivory Walls | He Came.” | Mr. Harper took as his theme, “Getting Under the Burden,” or “Sweating for the Lost.” He read the story of Christ's agony in the Garden of Gethsemane and likened that experience to the one needful among Christian people if they ex- pect to follow their Lord in His work on earth. He told of how men and women must shoulder the bur- den of the real battle of Christianity. “This ts a serious matter in Casper, Mr. Harper warned, ‘Are you stand- ing by your city? God is visiting the city of Casper. But how he is handicapped right now by those of you who refuse to spend one single hour pleading for a lost soul. You have sins of omission, perhaps, ra- ther than sins of commission, but you should confess. If thjs thing doesn’t reach out to those on the outside, we are not going to feel that Jt was through any fault of ours. Don't be afraid to get out and | work for Jesus Christ, for He sweat great drops of blood for you.” “Some people have been pri ne that God would visit the city and save the lost,’* he continued, “while some people think they don't want to be responsible for other persons’ lost souls, but you are all just as responsible as the ministers of the} gospel. God has made no distinc: | on. There is no distinction between,| Christians’ and others in this mat- ter. All have responsibility alike.” | At the close of the service over 50 | were enlisted, and took part in the] prayer of reconsecration or tommit- ment to the Christian life. Mr. Har- per speaks again tonight at 1:30, and on Friday night the last of the series of high school night will be held, North Casper will also send a delegation Friday night.
