National champion for four years, @ second baseman and & quarter-back at Harvard, a Roosevelt rough rider, during the Spanish-American War, a major in the air service during the world war, he died last night in his apartment here of bright's disease. For 25 years he had been a member of the New York Stock Exchange. He was national tennis champion in 1893, 1894, 1896 and 1897, and shared the doubles championship in 1895.
