iw i SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 1925 MORE ARRESTS. IN ROME PLOT (Continued From Page One) Tl Tevere, fascist paper, declares the conspiracy.was hatched among members of the Italia Libera (Free Italy), a natioan! patriotic society, founded ‘by the dramatist Sernben- ell. The paper reports the arrest of Ulisse Duccl, former head of the society, dissolved some time ago. At Genoa, the newspaper says, offices of the socialist newspaper La Vora were occupied, the police arresting Chief Editor Ansaldo, a prominent Free Mason named Acquarone and the Unitarian socialist leader Man- gani. The police who discovered Tito Zaniboni, former Unitarian socialist, deputy alleged to have been chosen for the actual killing of the premier, in a hotel room overlooking the bal- cony where Premier Mussolini spoke, claim to have found in his baggage a map delineating his’ plans for es- cape. It is revealed that the series num- ber found in*Zaniboni’s room had been filed “off. Zanibon! is maintain- ing his ‘calm’ demeanor in the Regina Coell prison. ROME, Nov. 7.—()—The over. throw, of the Savoy dynasty and the establishment of a republic in Italy apparently was embraced in the plot to assastnate Premier Mussolini last WedneStay. on the occasion of: the celebration of the anniversary of the signing of the armistice with Austria. The usually well informed news- paper, L'Epoca, which is of pro-fas- cist tendency responsible for the statement that the coup was intend- ed. While the newspaper fafled even to hint at the source of this infor- mation, the assurance with which it relates its statement that the mon- archy had been in jeopardy renewed the exeltement throughout the city which was caused when the’ tale was unfolded of ‘the plot to assassinate ’ the préffiler as he stood on the bal- cony of the Chigi Palace reviewing the troops on armistice day. There have been additional ar- resfs made of persons suspected of being connected with the plot, and still others are expected. Lodges of the Free Masons, who are said to have been among the instigators of the subversive movement, are being guarded by troops, both in Italy proper and the Italian colonies. The Unitarian socialist party has been dissolved and several newspapers opposed to the government either have been suppressed or forced to suspend publication. Premier Mussolini still is the re- cipient of messages of congratula- tlons from parts of the world on his escape: Pope Pius, when he was tn- formed of the conspiracy, was deep- ly moved. He expressed great pleas- ure that the plans of the assassins had been frustrated and that “an irreparable misfortune for Italy” had been averted. Standard Oil To Paint Signs For Aviators) WASHINGTON, Nov. 7.—W)—As an aid to aviation, the Standard Oi] company of California has agrped to paint the names of tewns and cities on the roofs of its warehouses. The army air service, which sug- gested the plan, was notified today of the company’s agreement, and ex- pects other large corporations to follow suit. Twelve foot letters will be used which will enable pilots immediately to ascertain their location. Major General Patrick, chief of the air service, feels that the system 1s im- portant as a step toward establish- ment of national airways. aie pe Tell the Advertiser—“I saw it In The Tribune.” Two cents per word or ten cents per Une. = NO ADD LESS THAN 30 CENTS Five average words used as ® is of estimating a line.
