The Kid, up*to the present, has spent a crowded life talking Amer- loan financiers out of thelr go’d in between, the time it has taken to talk various and syndry judges out of impending prison sentences. Lately the pace has become too warm. Twice within recent weeks, the Yellow Kid has enjoyed a jolt- Ing ride in a patrol wagon. Once a timely court order caught-up with the wagon just before it reached the hoosegow. The Kid was saved. The next time the order of release failed to show up until his offended figure had reposed for 28 minutes within the. confines of a cell.
