FRIDAY, APRIL 10, 1925 DIVORCE PLEA HOLS CHARGE OF AQAULTS Extreme Cruelty Cited By Mrs. John Paton Tn Petition Charges of extreme cruelty on the part of her husband, John Paton, against her and her two minor children of a former marriage and Man’s Trouble Arrested “The past 4 years I have been going down, down, down with eatarrh of the stomach and had to give up work a year ago because of my weakened condition. I sut- fered terribly from bloating and colic attacks, M Wonderful Remedy \vas recommended to me. I took a course of it and am now feeling fine.” It is a simple, harmless pre- paration that re. es the catarrhal mucus from the Intestinal tract and allays the inflamation which causes practically all stomach, liver and in- testinal silmente, including appen- aicitis, One dose will convince or money refunded. For sale by drug- dv. a plea to the court for a restraining order to prevent him from further molesting them and from disposing of thelr joint property, resulted in {s- suance of the order by Judge Bryant S. Cromer, in the divorce suit of Ida Derr Paton, filed late yesterday af- ternoon in district court. Mrs. Paton says her husband made ‘viclolus and unlawful assaults on her, that he choked into insensi- bility and when she recovered she found that he had torn her clothing from her body and had destroyed or concealed this wearing apparel and that he had locked her inside the house. At another time rhe alleges he twisted the arm of one of her minor children until it turned blue in the face from the pain and she seized it and ran outside the house in order to resusitate the child in a heavy rain that was falling. This action on her part resulted in Paton strik- ing her with his fist so forcibly that he knocked her across the room and she later called on the sheriff for protection, she says. On one occasion he administered such severe and unwarranted beat- ings on her children that they left the house and stayed away all night, she claims. He has also refused to give her any money and has threat- ened her life !f she starts any legal action against him and that for this reason she secured a restraining or- der in justice court against him in h he was required to post a $200 f ond, the complaint says. This bond is not sufficient to prevent v: lence against her, she says she be- Neves, and the restraining order is requested by the court. The judge instructed the sheriff to notify Paton to show cause why he fees to Mrs. Paton. These sums are asked in the petition together with the decree and $250 a month until further order from the court. Two other sults for divorce were filed. The decree Is asked by Vir- ginia Mae Liewellyn against Harvey Liewellyn on grounds of desertion. In another petition Fred W. Schutte alleges that his wife, Min- nie, was not satisfied with the home he provided, that she started nag- ging him soon after marriage, treat- ed him cooly, was rude and disagree- able, called him vile names and that she was insanely jealous, They were separated in 1923.
