Membem% of the committee safd today they had been informed that Chairman Carey and others of- the conferencé desired that the senate proceed with the passage of the Capper-Haugen. co-operative market- ing. bill for which the Dickinson measure. was made a substitute in the’ house. % The conference members take the position, the sneators said, that the Dickinson bill would not accomplish the purpose the conference had in mind in recommending co-operative marketing legislation and that con- Sress might as well not enact any| law. While members of the senate farm bloc expect to call up the’ Capper- Haugen bill in the senate tomorrow they have Httle hope of getting any ‘more farm relief legislation on the statute books at ,this session of congress.
