A. E. COOKE from the pulpit of FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH. As promised, there was no side-step- i ping, no dodging of the real issue. What was coming to the church the preacher took. It was strong medicine but it did not upset him. He played the game. ‘ It was claimed by many prominent men that the preachers have no message for the man of today; that they are mostly unprac- tical: ignorant of the real needs of men; out-of-date in their thinking; given to platitudes and twaddle in the pulpit. It was also charged that the church is out of touch with modern thought and modern life; antiquated and unscientific in-her teaching; untrue to the Christ-~ ianity of Christ; lacking in leadership; Cowardly in the face of social evil, and a bulwark of modern capitalism, preaching a lop-sided 2 gospel that has no appeal to the average mari. " Is there any answer to these sdrious charges? Is the preacher a fossil perched in a coward’s castle? Has the church proved false to the mission of Jesus? Has she no vital thing that these men need? Or is she still’on the job as the divinely-ordained agency for the fel- lowship, instruction and redemption of the world? If you want to know just which view is right then come and hear REV. A. E. COOKE preach on “WHY MEN SHOULD GO TO CHURCH?” in : Es FIRST CONCRECATIONAL CHURCH (AMERICA THEATER) at 11 o’Clock on Sunday Morning Come and hear the casé for the church. Give the preacher.a fair chance at you, and se¢ if he misses you and hits the wall. PLAY THE GAME, and be at the America Theater at 11 o'clock tomorrow! Pyar reat hid ae z In the last few months in this City of Casper has had its quota of law-breakers and evil-dotrs. Thieves, harlots, gamblers, druhk- irds, bootleggers, drug addicts, thugs, and murderers have claimed the attention of police and press and public. Each and all are a dan- ger to the entire community. The forces of law and order have done their best to curb their activities and bring them to justice. But these are not necessarily the greatest menace to the life of our city. The’ most dangerous individual is still at latge. WHO IS HE? ABET WHERE IS HE? Come and hear a SPECIAL SERMON by REV. A. E. COOKE on : THE MOST DANGEROUS MAN IN CASPER---WHO IS HE? IN THE ODD FELLOWS HALL, SUNDAY, AT 7:30 P. M.
