X-Word Puzzle Costs Paper Old. Reader SIOUX FALLS, 8. D., Jan. 8—The cross word puzzle craze has cost a local daily newspaper one of its old- est subscribers. The victim of the puzzle fad, he wrote from his home near Garretson, 8, D., and declared: “I have taken your paper for 24 years and hitherto have found no fault wit hit. When you began run- ning cross word puzzles they were very good and possible to work, but lately they have been harder and here 1925 IF MAaG ME OOT harder and now are almost impos- sible to solve. Having written you about this matter and received no satisfaction, I am compel'ed to aban- dom your good newspaper and take another which prints puzzles which can be worked without staying up all night. Inasmuch as I can take oply one daily paper and no other cross word puzzles than those I get in newspapers are available, I am compelled tot find a paper which {s satisfactory in this department.’ Vermont Women end Greetings To Gov.
