The plot shows the efforts of Hal Lawrence, theatrical booking agent, to get new material for his shows. Emmett Vogan, as. the colored gentleman, is employed right at the start, and Fred Lorch, as the tragedian, is next to be e¢m- ployed. These two funsters, with Vogan in blackface, furnish the real laughs and entertainment for the show. Various members of the cast are introduced as try-outs, and they score. The management of the Columbia theater kas installed an electrically lighted runway, which extends out over the part of the audience. This is an added feature that has been needed at the Columbia for sdme time and it will be welcomed by the patrons. May Lorch, singing ‘Hop! Blues,” makes a hit leading the choristers out on the runway. Barl Fisher, with a saxaphone specialty, is as popular ag ever, while his song number “Mandalay” makes good. Elaine Russell, whose voice and charming personality has pleased many at the Columbia_recently, is a favorite with “Leave Me," a ballad, .and “Oh.
