Evans & Co., Inc., sutomobile loading experts, and A. F. Bement, vice-president and secre- tary of the Lincoln Highway associa- tion, have left Winnipeg, Manitoba, for Vancouver, British Columbia, in an endeavor to log a route for a new all Canadian highway, and incident- ally surmount some of the worst passes of the scenic Canadian North west. The trip necessitates conquering by motor a stretch across the high passes of the Canadian Rockies which no human being has ever con- quered other than afoot or on horse- back, The distance is estimated as between 1,700 and 1,800 miles. If successful, the trip is expected to be the forerunner of plans which eventually will open a through Canadian highway from the Atlantic to the Pacific, similar to the trans- tontinental highways of the- United States. This winning of the Canadian Northwest by motor promises plenty of problems even for these two sea- soned pathfinders, While the road development of southern Alberta, in and about that beautiful regior rounding Lake Louise, has adv: rapidly, and thousands gf Americans now make the tour from Spokane or Glacier national parks to the Banff national park, to ary and Ed monton, no route has ever been opened west of Banff or Invermere through the high and rugged passes of the Canadian Rockies into British Columbia, connecting with the Pa- elfic, ————_—_ _--—_ SATURATION POINT TO BE REACHED WHEN SELLERS QUIT WORK Just as soon as motor car sales do not meet a dealer's expectations he begins to talk of the saturation point, and forgets that the drop in sales has been due to the fact that he has quit working.
