Rose sitting in the District Court yesterday, grant- ed temporary compensation to E. A. Arnett, contractor, of -Careyhurst, who was knocked from a wagon by a bolt of lightning while doing con- struciion wot on the North and South Railroad a year ago last May. Judge Rose has had the case under advisement now for several months and based his decision on an ela- borate brief on the subject of Work- men's Compensation law prepared by Mr. Arnett's attorney EB. C. Madden. The case inc!dently establishes a pre- cedent in this state on this type of compensation; compensation for in- juries caused by the elements. Mr. Madden in his brief traces the com- pensation law from early English common law down to its applicability to injuries sustain in modern indus- tries. The court intimated that it would allow a permanent partial dis- ability at a later date, altho only temporary compensation from the date of the injury up to date was al- lowed. to Fe m: ’ A little further to walk—a Uttle better work. Car Delivered On Time by Crossing High Rail Bridge Residents of Wavefly, 0., which is 26 miles south of Chillicothe, looked around for the operator turn- ing the crank of a moving picture macaine, recently, when they saw an automobile driving across the trestles of the high railroad bridge spanning the Scioto river at that point. They thought they were. wit- nessing a daring episode in a new serial thriller soon to be projected on the flickering screen. But they found no movie ¢amera, nor other evidence of a melo-drama in the making. Instead they discovered nothing more sensational in the stunt than the resourceful act of an automobile man who was determined to deliver a car té an impatient customer on the promised delivery date. N. R. Dawley, Peerless distributor in Charleston, W. Va., sold a Peer- less Six sedan to a business man in his community. The customer wanted the car right away, so Mi Dawley came Yo the Peerless factor to drive it home.
