Robbins’ Mes- sila Dam amusement park had wor- ried the ministerial allaince here. After all efforts to put a stop to it had failed, the ministers up an old statute provding fines for pa- trons of Sunday amusements, but none for proprietors of the amuse- ment places. Threats of arrest failed to cut the attendance at the Sunday dances and the ministers were at a loss to find some means of enforcing the “blue laws.” Finally, they went to Rohpins and told him that if he would <liscon- tinue his Sunday dances the minis- ters would supply free music by the National Guard band to take the place of the dance, Robbins agreed.
