The question of employing “stool Pigeons,” to obtain evidence on ‘vio- lators came up. Such plainclothes- men have been hired by the city ever since Acting Mayor Whisen- hunt staged a rather sensational cleanup after waiting patiently for results from the police department employed at that time. An ordinance was passed at the first reading and for the purpose of regulating parking within the busi ness section of the city. This ordi- mance makes a parking district of certain parts of streets and with the exception of West Yellowstone from David to Spruce requires that all cars shall be parked at a 45 degree angle with the curb. In the exgept- ed territory cars are to be parked parallel with the curb not less than six inches cr more than two feet from it, and with intervals of four feet between each car. Violation of the ordinance is punishable by a fine from $5 to $100, The ordinance will not be in effect until it has passed the third reading. The parking district named in- cludes Midwest avenue from David street to Durbin street, Second street from David street to Park street, West Yellowstone highway from David street to Spruce street, East Yellowstone highway from the inter- section with Second street to Park street, First street from Ash street to Durbin street, Durbin street from First street to Midwest avenue, Wol- co street from A street to Midwest avenue, Center street from A street to Fifth avenue, David street from Second street to Midwest avenue. An ordinance was passed last night creating Paving District 48. Protests on this district were over ruled as being insufficient. No pro- tests were submitted on Paving Dis- trict 50 and it was passed as read Plans and specifications were accept- ed for Paving District 49, and Pay ing District 50. Bids will be opened July 14 on these districts. ‘The assessment role on grading district No, 8 was accepted as was that of the storm sewer in district 26.
