WASHINGTON, May 28. — The Norris bill for government opera- tion of Muscle Shoals was reported today by the senate agriculture ; committee by a vote of 11 to4. A motion to report the Ford bill was defeated 11 to 5. Advocates of the Ford bid blocked a vote on jin amendment offered by Senator Capper, which would bring the bid under the federal water wer act and limit the lease to fifty years. Senator Capper said that both he and Senator Kendrick favored the Ford bid with these : amendments, but would not sup. port it in its present form. (Diag seer bareteny | MAJ. There is still a detour around Nine-Mile lake. Good detour around paving project. Sheridan north to Montana line, road fair to good. Sheridan eas to Ucross, Arvada, Campbell county line, road fair to good, One detour on this road 4 miles west of Ucross where landslide occurred. Good de- tour at the present time. Sheridan to Buffalo road fair to good. Butf- falo south to Natrona county line road fair to good with the exception of about 10 miles of the southern portion of Johnson county where the road is choppy. This section is under construction, Buffalo to Ucross, good. Buffalo to Tensleep road fair for the first 16 miles west of Buffalo, | Open to South Fork Inn. From South Fork Inn on over the mountain the road is blocked on account of snow, ‘The Sundance- Upton road generally fair though muddy in a few places, easily pass- able. Lusk-Newcastle is generally in good condition. Newcastle to Lusk and Newcastle to Sheridan, roads via Upton, Moorcroft and lette, good from south line of Westc county to the east line of Sheridan of the State Highway department reports that there is a detour of eight miles around grading ‘and paving operation from 12 to 20 miles north of Casper. Free team ser- vice is supplied by the State High- way department between 8 a. m. and 12 noon and 1 p. m. to 5 p. m. at Bonneville for towing. Since the heavy rains of last Friday the roads have been rough and muddy but with the drv weather the roads should be easily passable al- though it will not be possible to get all roads dragged before Mon- day or Tuesday.
