IQUOR SEIZED HY OFFICERS BUTTE, Mont., April 2.—Judge Carroll of the district court issuec an order, authorizing the sale of 118 bottles of real whiskey and cognac. It {s not an April fool joke. The lquor, supposed to have been consigned here from Seattle to pro vide wassail at a big Christmas Party, was seized at the Milwaukee railroad station. The seisure was made by deputies of Sheriff Larry Duggan. Judge Carroll, in explain- ing the unusual order, sald he be- Meved the county should derive some revenue from the exploit of the sheriff and his deputies. He authorized a call for bids, making the proviso, however, that no bid should be accepted from any person not a holder of a legal permit to purchase or sell liquor. Se aie oe PRESBYTERIANS HOLD ANNUAL MEET; BOARD DF ELDERS INCREASED The annual congregational meet ing of the First Presbyterian church was held in the tabernacle at Sixth and Durbin streets last night. It was well attended. A dinner at 6:30 o'clock was! given by the members of .se Ladies' Aid society. High school girls served. A program of community singing was led by H. Roe Bartle.
