Tonight at the Elks club the Wyoming State Amateur boxing and wrestling tournament will get under way with an entry list of 60 boxers and 20 wrestlers running through every division from flyweights to heavyweights. bouts promise to bring out the best amateur talent in the state and some hot matches The program will be on for three consecutive nights, finishing Satur day evening. All preliminary plans for the tournament have been carefully worked out and the drawings will take place at 3 o'clock this after- noon with the entrants weighing in between that hour and 6 o'clock. The first bout will be called at & o'clock Half a dozen athletic clubs and organizations in the city have en tered teams and their backers will be on hand in numbers to lend sup port to their favorites. The Stand- ard, Burlington, American Legion Smokehouse-Pearl Whites and the Casper A. C. have the biggest club entries. A silver loving cup, donated by the Tribune, will be given to the club making the best showing in the tournament. Jack Leary and Cleveland Storrs have been selected as referees for the boxing and wrestling matches respectively, with A. BE. Stirrett and Harry Free acting as judges in the boxing matches. Due to the election of officers to- might by the Elks’ lodge, the open- ing’ of the tournament probably will be slightly delayed.
