SUBURBAN PROPERTY 15 BECOMING POPULAR ko SHOWN BY LATE SALES A few years ago it would have been impractical to put on the mar- ket property for suburban homes three or four miles out of the city proper, where street railways did not extend. Especially would this haye been out of the question for the working man. Conditions, due to the develop- ment of the automobile and the! bus Ines, is bringing about a condition that is revolutionizing modes ‘of living. No longer is it necessary to raise children in basements, in tenements, or in the crowded dis- tricts of the city. Better health conditions and an opportunity to reduce the cost of living by raising a garden and chickens, also lighter taxes through lower property values, are all in favor of the industrious families who have an ambition to get ahead and own a home. Mountain View suburb {fs answer- ing this need in a large way and is meeting with phenominal success in Jot sales. A bus line will be in operation March first which will add materially to the convenience of the many families now. residing there and assure transportation to the many who will build homes dur- ing the spring and summer. The fact that gas and water are now being used by many people, that telephone lines are being put up, and that electricity will be in use before the summer is far gone had made this suburb a much talked of addition to Casper. When the lot sales for December amounted to over $12,000 it was considered exceptional. When in January they went over $21,500 which was a slow month in real estate generally, it was considered phenominal. However, February bids fair to far eclipse January, for the sales as reported by Baker- Grude Investment company are re- ported to be $6,200 for the first five days.
