Che Casper Daily Ceidune HAYWARD THOMPSON, MARVEL OF DAY, WRITES Hl OWN STORY BARNGY= I'm A FRIEND OF JUDGE MECRACKEN’S + HE NO USE, JUDGE ~ < SAW BARNEY Goos.e AND “UB WON'T RACE » THE WAY SmRKYS BEEN ACTING LATELY WE AIT GOT A CHANCE = TF THE HY 18 in : (Continued From Page One) serts she will wear the gown regard- less of Mr. Thompson's selection, however we feel certain that his selection will cofncide with the wishes of the lady as the exclusive models are worthy of the consider- ation of the most discriminating shopper. The interest in Thompson's re turn to Casper was expressed in no uncertain terms by the public yes- terday evening. Truly, there ts in store for the readers of the Tribune MY SO-CALLED DUAL MENTALITY BY HAYWARD THOMPSON The writing of my own story presents a proposition of “delicacy and fortitude.” Truly, I appreciate the attitude of the public as con cerns anything that borders on the supernatural. The element of trickery enters into many of the s0- called abnormal manifestations of the brain. There are many clever performers, presenting seeming im possible feats of mentality. To delve deeply into the subject of hyp- notism, mesmerism and those who claim to communicate with the dead is beyond my ken. A logical ex planation of my own ability I am unable to give only as I see it. The theories that have been presented to me by various scientific men of the country do not coincide with reason. To impart the true sense of the ‘dual mentality” idea, I must call attention to the fact that every human being is possessed of a “dual mentality.” ‘The ability to exercise it is the question that pre- sents a problem to science. Before | going further it is my sincere desire to inform my readers that #n no/ a treat that has been confined to the largest cities during the past 18 months. Since leaving Casper last year Thompson has developed the most startling performance ever given in public. We prevailed upon Mr. Thompson to write his own im- pression of*the condition that has in many sections of the country caused heated “discussion among scientific men. We present herewith his own story and while he admits it 1s his first “serious attempt,” we feel it will be of interest to the readers of the Tribune. the opinion that {t is impossible for any human to duplicate my actions as related to these seeming uncanny feats. Taking a correct premise that every individual ts in possession of both a conscious and subcon- scious mind I cannot help but feel that every man woman and child is the proud possessor of a “dual mentality” however, the difference between the two minds is a prop- osition that few endeavor to dect!- pher and none thus far have thor- oughly plumbed yet the unlimited powers of the subconscious is of vi- tal import to the education of future generations. To get down to tho basis of facts I call to mind the functioning of the subconscious.
