SHOWS SUNSHINE OF PICTURE NAHE, HO SHOWING “That special brand of sunshine” never shone more gloriously upon Hollywood than in the picture of that name which ts on view at the Rialto theater, “Beyond the first scenes, thers are no clouds, no tears, but the spectator {fs taken with the producers through the great film capitol and is given a touch of ths cheerfulness and goodwill that pre- vails there. The ghosts of Holly- wood, the fiends of its nights, its daytime masqueraders, are shown to be troubled mind, while Hol are ror mal, flesh who go to church on thelr golf, their after their motor rides, and their everything just lke tho rest-of the world To tell the story would be but to spoil ft. It is a tale of a girl who is going to pay back a few hundred dollars to her grandmother out of her first day’s salary. But the first day’s salary ne’ materializes. However, grand-daddy who has a funny looking nose {s able to make up for (ke want of earning power in his pretty granddaughter. The picture emphasizes the need of types for the pictures. There is the loving grandmother type, the “hard- fied ife type, an every other beautiful girl is no good if she can’t drive a motor car, swim, ride, or do something worth while. So the girl who went west to be a movie queen finds three genera- tions can get jobs but that she must remain a housewife. The rs of “Hollywood” into the picture some lars on the screen today. Glimpses of Thomas Melg- han, William S. Hart, Dougias Fair- banks, Mary Pickford, Lfla Lee, George Kosioff, Nita Naldl, Bfleen Percy, Anita Stewart, and scores of others are included, not to forget the puzzling Charies Chaplin. “Hollywood” will be shown today, tomorrew and Wednesday. (a FUN, SONGS AND FILM MAKE COLUMBIA SHOW Song specialties, a funny tablotd, and a motion picture, all of merit, make up the show at the Columbia theater today. '"The New Inspector” is the name of the show. It has to do with a telephone exchange and the words which were eachanged there. Freddie Walker, Bert Peck and Brank Barrfe are good as usual and have somo real laughs up their sleeves which they hand out to the members of the audience. In the way of vocal stuff the Harmony Trio presents “Wyoming Lullaby.” “Sophie,” “Oh, How Sho Lied,” and others. Peck himselt aings “Dapper Dan.” Freddie Walker is on hand with a ballad, and Flo Adel and Frank Barrie worl together on an excellent number. “Way Down Yonder in New Or- Jeans” as sung by Jean Warner is one of the big things of the evs ning. % The picture is “Other Women's Clothes” with Mabel Ballen. “THE LOVE PIKER” KT AMERICA SHOWS SNOB WHO CHANGES MANNER Persons who resent the old fashioned and are careless of the gods of filial piety will find a stimu- lating sermon to reverse their ideas in “The Love Piker” which is play- ing at the America theater for the last times today with Anita Stewart im the leading rale. Films in color can be made vir tually as cheaply as those in black and white, and with the pigments of nature on the screen, the play is immeasurably more nearly real. ne Toll of the Sea" was written by Frances Marion and directed by Chester M.
