Fine humor, love, pathos, drama —all are combined in “Hollywood” | and everybody will be in it! a terrific pace in its social fe. In our own country the front pages of a hundred newspapers blaze with | the fires of mad passions that result fn murder and divorce and what not. Petting parties and soul-kiss ing trysts occupy the minds of the once-decorous young. How long can we play the game? How long can this helter-skelter, high-powered era of jazz and luxury and wine and song go on? Daniel Carson Goodman gives his own clean-cut view of it in “Has the World Gone Mad!” a story of ter- rific drama that spares no one’s feel- ings, a production that goes right to the core of the problem and reveals the truth in thundering situations and emotions. “Has the World Gone Mad!” be- eomes a vast human treatise de: veloped with amazing skill by Mr. Goodman, who perhaps has greater understanding of men and women today than any other producer of motion pictures now before the jury ot the public. HARMONY TRIO OPENS AT COLUMBIA THIS EVENING ‘The Harmony Trio just off the Pantages circuit and brought here st an expense that will demand large crowds at the Columbia will open its sppearance there tonight It is an organization of vocal artists that are rarely found in such happy combination. At Palm Beach, Muriel Gray, played by Miss Ayres, js mak ing an effort to create a favorable impression .on John Dennis, a bachelor, portrayed by Mahlon Hamilton. But the latter believes that Muriel is rather frivolous, and his indifference wounds Muriel deep: ly. She is determined, however, to force Dennis to take her in his arms, end makes this her boast. Murtel at first is a miserable failure as a vamp, but finally makes good her boast. There is an excellent supporting cast.
